Just got back from seeing Marley & Me with my mom & sister - - - Even though we managed to be complete asses during all of the saddest parts, they didn't kick us out! As for the movie, LOVED it & as soon as I get the hang of my new scanner I will probably post little Chubs puppy pictures for everyone. He really was the cutest puppy. He even has his own scrapbook to show for it!
Right before I left, I read my friend Laurie's (Peepers Creepers on the list at the side) blog where she listed what she learned in 2008 - She had something about realizing that her dog is an ass. I commented that all moms find that out after their second baby-baby comes. Seeing Marley helped me see that it won't always be days of interrupted naps with Chubs, it might always be days of terrified UPS men, but that he loves us & the kids love him (even when he stresses me out!)
So, I'm off to bed & I'll probably let Chubs skip the kennel tonight thanks to Marley...

Christmas Eve
After naps, we went over to Aunt Terri's for the Johnson Family Christmas get together. The kids went crazy over sugar cookies, presents, & seeing Christmas lights! We came home and let the kids open 1 present each from Mom & Dad before getting their Christmas jammies on & getting up to bed. Cody talked Steve & I into cramming into his frog tent with him & Lindsey...tight fit & a little warm, but cute! Now we're just waiting for Santa!!!

Christmas Eve Kiddos
Cody & Lindsey are in full-blown Christmas Frenzy! Big Daddy & Pamma came over today with presents & lunch. Tents for the big kids and there were a big hit! All of the kids are upstairs napping (I hope!) while I get everything ready for the next stop on our Christmas Eve adventure...
Charlie surprised us by getting a new front tooth today - He is cranky, drooling & loving the bows from all of the presents!

Dad & Pam got some "help" assembling the kids tents - COdy & Lindsey were so excited to get them up in their rooms!

Lindsey kept telling them "I love it!" & shrieking that she was "queen of her very own castle". It was quite cute! In an unheard of fashion, she climbed right for naptime...Yeah princess fairy tent!!!

Cody & his frog tent, blankie, & "oggy"

-Thanks Big Daddy & Pamma for a fun Christmas Eve visit!!!

gingerbread lunch!
I was just checking out Amber's blog & I couldn't help but laugh at the difference between our gingerbread houses & gingerbread artists.

We're all in our jammies since we are once again SNOWED IN! Lindsey is of course topless & decorating...No cute Christmas colored clothes here!

Cody was pretty into decorating the house. Lindsey was at first, but quickly began eating candy off of the house - causing quite a bit of excitement! I thnk you can spot a few bald spots in this picture, courtesy of Linds

This picture highlights my biggest differnce with Amber's version of gingerbread house day - My kids won't pose! Once a month I get a nice smile opun request, but never 3 of them at one time...Maybe next year!

The finished product was scraped for frosting while I changed Charlie's diaper upstairs. I'm sure this picture would never sell gingerbread house kits, but they had a blast & they are proud of their snacked on house.

To reallylaugh at the differences between the Soets & the Doumas gingerbread experince, check out Amber's blog. They are the Doumas on my list of blogging buddies up above. Get ready to laugh!

Santa Brunch 2
Santa Brunch 1
I have just been behind all month - So these have been just waiting to be posted & I keep putting it off... in the begining of Dec. the kids & I went to Santa Brunch at Thousand Oaks with Mimi, Gigi, & Aunt Kortney. The kids were freaked out by Santa, Rudolph & Frosty - but we all had fun getting into the spirit of the season!

Sue was the only one we could get to smile on Santa's lap...

the tree is up - - - finally!
Steve brought home a tree from the Farmer's Market on Saturday & we decorated it all together on Sunday before heading off to Santa Brunch at Centennial (pictures to follow some time this week). The kids were so excited to have the tree up. Countless ornaments have bit the dust, Charlie has attempted to scale the tree at least 3 times today, but it looks great & it feels like Christmas!

Late, but oh so TACKY!
Steve & I went to an ugly Christmas Sweater party through his business group last week. I know I bugged several of you looking for awful sweaters & I promised to post what we came up with - You gotta love these! The best part about the party ended up being that the hostess (she picked the theme!) was looking like Chritsmas Barbie when she opened the door...Nothing ugly about her outfit at all!!! She "just ran out of time to find something"...It would have been funnier if it had just been a joke. Anyway, it was fun to find some tacky Christmas attire & see what everybody else came up with!
Email me if you want to borrow it this year!

To give you a slight idea of how ugly the winner was - here is Lee, the winner! Only you can't see how the entire back of his sweater was literally lit up! He taped 3 battery packs inside to keep it glowing! Way to go for it!
