Gone till December...

I have no excuse other than I have just been too tired out to blog about much! Hopefully school will get started and I will adjust to the schedule a little bit better.

During my blog-drought, we had been keeping busy with Uncle Mike - Steve's brother from NYC - and we even spent a weekend in the 60's up at the cottage all together. The kids go crazy playing with Uncle Mike and they are already trying to figure out how many days it will be until he is here in GR again...Too many for this tired mommmy to count! So, here are a few pics from the cottage with Uncle Mike entertaining us all

Cody's Super Duper 5th Birthday Party!

We were Super Heros in training today at Gymco for Cody's 5th birthday. The kids had fun, the capes looked super cute, & by 4pm I was all finished without any clean up!!! I did still have to bring 3 really tired out kids home though....So as a result, I am exhausted! So I'll blog more about the festivities this weekend.

Party Central - Cake #3 of the week!

Wednesday we had a Hannah Montana party (because Cody is sure that H.M. is what all the big girls love) for our summer savior - our babysitter, Christina. Her birthday is Saturday, just like Cody's, but she is moving back to GVSU this week. It was so sad to see her come for the last time. She came bearing gifts for me & the kids and she even pretened to love the Hannah Montana cozy that the big kids picked out for her. We LOVE Christina!

Cody was looking "certainly awesome" in his new Hulk gloves, super hero cape, mask, H.M. headset and Transformer shirt. Too cool!
With the Dirty 30 party behind us and Cody's Super Hero party this Friday, my actual birthday just kind of snuck by. I was working on all of the super hero capes I needed to make and we had lunch at our favorite Mexican spot like all good birthdays.

Steve took the kids to Mejier to do a little birthday shopping for me...Balloons, purple mums, & new coloring books! It was sweet to see how excited they were to give them to me! They were pretty excited to color with me this morning with "my" new coloring books, too!

On with the cake parade!!!

Dirty 30 Party!!!

Last night we had a "dirty 30" party at our house to celebrate my upcoming birthday. It was a dirty t-shirt contest, so everyone who came had to be in their "dirtiest" t-shirt. To protect the partygoers, all of the dirty shirts are blocked off in these pics...

We had tons of fun & it was the best birthday I have ever had! I am blessed to have the best husband, sidekick sister, and so many great friends and neighbors to celebrate turning 30 with! Thanks to all of you that came!

Bringing back our baby!

Chubs came home today! We were miserable after we left him at the Humane Society 10 days ago, but we didn't know what to do. My Aunt Terri got us thinking about re-wiring the electric fence and then we knew we had to try and bring him home! We pleaded and they said yes because of the changes we made to the house - He can't go out the front door, garage door or be in front of the house, and he is going to be in his kennel when a babysitter is over. That will keep everyone safe & the six Soets in tact!

He was so happy to see us when we got to the Humane Society today - those are little happy pee squirts all over the ground by Steve!

The boys took a happy truck ride home!

He seems exhausted - probably from all of the barking dogs in the Humane Society's kennel. It will take a few days to get him back in the swing of all things Soet - until then he will probably be cuddling with Steve! We're glad our little winer is back!
