A Baby Shower for little Addyson Rae

This past weekend, while I was staying at my in-laws' house (while Steve tiled the kitchen), I threw a baby shower for my cousin Ross & his wife, Melissa. Little Addyson Rae is due March 31st! In the midst of party prepping, I made it out with the Johnson girls for a girly movie & a little dessert at Chilis. So even though it was hectic living away from home, trying to get a shower put together & having a sick Charlie, we had a great weekend!

Covergirl

Covergirl - watch out! Lindsey is into trying on Gigi's make-up these past few weeks and as you can see she usually winds up looking abused! Maybe it's the fourth birthday that is looming just ahead, but she is all sorts of sassy lately!!! Last week, she told me she likes me better when I'm quiet!!!

Some days it cracks me up & other days it pushes my buttons in not such a cute way! I suppose that is the way of mothers and daughters!

That makes me think of a bumper sticker Kortney & I saw the other day in traffic - "If it's not one ting, it's your MOTHER!" How true!!!

Happy birthday Charlie!!!

So our little man is two today! We had a little pre-party last week at Amber's house because the kids kept asking all about what kind of party was I throwing for Charlie....third kid, different kind of party! I showed up at Amber's with unwrapped presents, a bare rice krispie treat waiting to be turned into a train of some sort & pizza for lunch! We all had fun & tonight we'll be having an awesome train cake with dinner at the Soet's to celebrate with the family!

I always felt like things would get easier once Charlie was two - It still isn't that easy, but it is way more fun! Two years ago, Cody was 3.5 and Lindsey was a month shy of 2 - 3 kids in diapers - a naughty weiner dog - a new house - It was a lot to handle. It's nice to be at a place where we can have a little more fun instead of just getting through the day :) It is also nice not bring pregnant or having a newborn while we celebrate a second birthday!!!

back to the blog...

I have been a little bit overwhelmed with dust from all of our home remodeling, fiesty kids, and a wee bit of healing in the past weeks...So the blog fell to the bottom of the list for awhile. I had to back at it after checking out Amber's blog post about our recent girl's day with the Lindsey, Emmy & their bitty twins - Cody & Lindsey and Mathew & Molly. Check out her blog for even cuter pictures of the girls on their special day out with their mommies & their babies. ("the Doumas" in the blogs I visit on the sidebar)




I might play catch up or just try not ot fall so far behind again - We'll see....

Sometimes it is too easy for me to get caught up in how much laundry needs to be done, grocery lists, messes to pick up, cookies t make for preschool, etc. to realize how lucky am I to have such special friends! Over the past few days, I have seen how blessed I am to have such great girls in my life.

I feel so lucky to know that I always have a mom and a mother-in-law that will pitch in despite how many funny stories I tell of their crazy ways and a sister who some how grew up to become one of my very best friends! New friends from the neighborhood that have stepped up from friends to laugh and drink at Bunco with that have made that step into my inner circle of supportive girls to call on at any time. Junior League girls that check in on me even when I am feeling much less than polished! Preschool moms that are now more than just "so and so's fun mom" to talk to in the hallway, etc. And of course Amber who I have been calling with my mini crisis moments since I was 13 years old.

Anyway, no pictures to post. No jokes to make - Just many, many thanks to you all! I love you and am so thankful for your friendship!
