Cody's Home Run T-Ball Season

It seems too hard to update this summer....Well T-ball season ended last night & we all had fun doing it! Steve helped coach & Cody got to see some of his school buddies which he loved, too!

One week, our neighbor Karsyn came along to help coach Cody's team - it was too sweet watching Cody give him the thumbs up while he was supposed to be playing the field. All 3 of my kids were fighting for Karsyn's attention as usual. Cody is so lucky to have such a cool older friend!

A whole lot of Johnsons...

Today I took 2 out of the 3 kids to see my mother's side of the family, the Johnsons. It was rainy so we were all stuck inside a cute little purple cottage - there was a ton of food, lots of kisses from Aunts, and finally, more little kids! Actually there were babies, but they'll get there...

In a lot of ways it was like family days while my grandparents were sill alive. They lived on Bostwick Lake and I still think of that house as one of my happiest places. Same people, and yet something was so different for me.

Today I really, really missed my Grandma Johnson! She always made me feel loved. I am sure that is something so many people say about their gradparents, but until I met Steve that wasn't something I could say about anyone else but my Grandma J. Today I was really missing her as I felt so out of place. Lucky for me, I had Steve & Cody waiting to tell me all about their new LEGO Batman on Xbox adventures when I got home...

She always made me feel loved - what a great way to be remembered! xoxo, K

Road Trip!!!

Steve was ripping up the kitchen in hopes of getting our major home remodeling projects wrapped up, so I headed for Big Star Lake with my 3 kids, my best friend, Amber and her 3 kids, and very thankfully, my very awesome babysitters, Christina & Stephanie.

It was a fun 3 days - full of snacks, screams, splashes, messes, giggles, art projects, smores, tears, time outs, Charlie's first trip to the movie theater, ice cream cones called baby blue goo, pictures, boat rides, sandy bottoms, and good times!

Too many pictures to choose from and way too many cute ones to post.... I'm so thankful for good friends and great babysitters! Thanks Amber, Christina, Stephanie and thanks to Chuck & Sue for letting us crash at the cottage!

Legoland!!!

It blew his mind! We even had some fun, too!

3 days of just Cody in the Widy City!!

Steve and I jumped into having 3 kids close together. Cody was exactly three and a half years old when we had Charlie. It depends on the day whether or not I think that our plan was genius or absolute baby craziness! Cody , Lindsey and Charlie can go from the best of friends to cage match fighters in about 3 seconds. Without a few amazing babysitters I can't imagine how I would have survived -

Last summer I started mommy dates with Cody & Lindsey where only took one of them out with me at a time. Usually we ran a few errands and then they could pick something like going out to lunch, a park, seeing a movie, etc. We always wrap it up with a 7/11 slurpee!!! It was so nice to get that one on one time with each of them that I thought Steve & I should do a little mini trip with each kid. Naturlly, Cody was first!

Chicago with Mom & Dad for 3 days! We took the train there, stayed way up high in a hotel and saw lots of sites together - to Cody, the highlight was Legoland for sure! What a great trip! Here a just a few of way too many picturs taken on our trip :)
