It's Official...

Today is the turning point! Charlie is walking at least as much as he is crawling today! Walkin' Charlie has been clapping for himself & getting fussed over by his big brother & sister! Wow - I guess that means I have three kids to actively chase after this summer...

KENTUCKY!

Steve & I got back from Kentucky yesterday after a weekend FULL of fun & old friends! The weather was great - hot & sunny, the ride seemed like a date night without kid music or DVDs playing in the background, & I have really missed my friends!

This weekend was such a treat. We met up with everyone at Keeneland for a day of horse racing in the sun. We didn't win one penny, but enjoyed the day just the same! On the night before their big day, Audra & Scott had us all over to their house for a cocktail party. While I would have been a complete ditz worrying about the wedding details, Audra put together an amazing spread and it was so much fun to have a night out with my old friends!

I just read a sign in one of the many catalogs that pile up at my house - "it takes a long time to make an old friend". It has been quite awhile since I have been back to Kentucky. After one weekend with all of my girls, I miss it more than ever! Steve & I had so much fun. While I was sure that I would enjoy the weekend being back in KY, seeing Steve really like everyone & have so much fun made it truly great to be back!



Thanks to you all for being such great friends when we were like 6 & for still being my friend after so many years & such a large distance between us. And the biggest thanks to Audra & Scott for putting such an amazing weekend together and including us in your special day! It was a beautiful wedding & we wish just as beautiful of a marriage to you both!

Not that anyone has a favorite...

Like I said, no one has a favorite, but if we did, Charlie would be pretty hard to top! He is ALWAYS happy! Here are a few shots from the dinner table the other night. He loves being like Daddy & stealing Steve's hat. I am biased, of course, but he is adorable!!!

Little Hoopsters!

Last week the kids started a basketball class at East Hills - Little Hoopsters. They were so excited to be in class with "talking Charlie". It turns out one of Lindsey's little school friends was also in the class. It was cute - they warmed up, ran a few drills, passed the ball a bit & shot a few baskets. We've got a lot to work on!

Potty Training our Princess...

Since Friday, I have been trying to potty train our "princess" with little success. She wears her underwear, carefully choosing between Hello Kitty & Dora undies. She downs SEVERAL sippy cups of juice. She sits on the potty, wipes, & flushes. She just never actual USES the potty. Around 2:30pm she has a huge accident, changes dresses & goes on.

Now I don't know what to do. I can't stand the battle in the bathroom all day long. I hate to consider conceding to Pull-ups again. I wish I just knew what to try next. How can I get Linds to actually use the potty? Any and all advice is welcomed! Please successful potty training parents, give me any advice!
